therapy or individual counseling. It is technique used in the mental health field by trained professionals who work one-on-one with clients to help them explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with a focus on elevating clients’ self-awareness, emotional well-being, and personal growth through self-discovery.

Individual psychotherapy involves a therapist and a client meeting regularly in a safe, confidential, and supportive environment. Some of the skills and competencies needed by therapists include excellent interpersonal skills, high intuitiveness, above average empathy, confidentiality, respect and integrity.
